Results of our Internet access/speed survey:

(Thank you for your participation.)

Most residents that do not have Charter reported to be unhappy with their Internet service.
*AT&T can't increase our internet speed (DSL) in our area or install a new line. Once a homeowner moves, the AT&T service it is no longer available to that home.
*Charter will not run new lines depending on how close you are to an existing "box". (Located at the bottom of the subdivision)

Let's get up to speed with Internet speed at Hunter's Ridge:
The Federal Communications Commission considers 4 Mbps (megabits per second) the minimum speed "generally required for basic email, web browsing, music streaming, standard definition video (SD)".
Several residents reported a maximum of download speed of 2 Mbps or much less ( 0.21 Mbps) ! 0.32 Mbps for upload (when you send email with pictures attached etc..)

A great solution: "Skyrunner"
Based in Asheville, their Haywood antenna is located on top of Chamber Mountain, a few miles west of us.) Recently some Hunters Ridge home owners have opted for Skyrunner and depending on the plan they pick, (about $50 or custom plans) get a solid 6 to 10 Mbps

If you can see Chamber Mountain antennas from your place you can get a great Internet speed for a good quality/pricevalue through them. (No contracts - fast installation - 99.99% reliable Internet service and video streaming... )
Test your internet speed here - - Check here the Skyrunner website.

Wishing this may help you get up to speed with Internet,
